If you can’t agree when locating magnetic north….

November 24, 2010

Hoo boy.

Pelosi will lead Democrats “in pulling on the president’s shirttails to make sure that he doesn’t move from center-right to far-right,” said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., a co-chair of the liberal Progressive Caucus in the House…

They fear Obama will go too far in accommodating the GOP in the new era of divided government, and they see Pelosi as a counterweight

So, Pelosi’s House was sitting in the center right? We have a really interesting issue if the minority leader and the rest of the country can’t even come to agreement on what’s magnetic north, or where to set the zero on the x or y axis.

And is “I won” and “sit in the back and let me drive” defined as “accomodating?’ Wow.

So, “center right” is ….what in the below statement?

Rep. Brian Higgins, D-N.Y., said Democrats learned from the last two years and their shellacking at the polls that “we need to be more aggressive with the White House. They were looking for what was acceptable and then moving toward that, instead of what was important, and moving toward that,” Higgins said. “We need to be true to our principles.”

One of the fundamental start points in any disagreement is agreeing on what compromise looks like. These cats can’t even seem to agree on where magnetic north is pointing holding a compass in both hands with a Boy Scout handy to help them reading it.

Michelle Malkin notes that when the country ‘lurches to the right’ there’s lots of calls for “centrism”. It looks to me that “centrism” is ‘stick to our guns and wait for the country to come to their senses’….

we’re in for some interesting times when we can’t even agree on what progress looks like or what the real objectives for the country are….

I once had an acquaintance who seemed to be able to convince themselves of the truthfulness of whatever story they were telling at the time to the point where they believed themselves even in the middle of a bald face lie.
There are some people who are capable of that kind of behavior – in most walks of life it’s a clinical neurosis. Apparently it’s also normal operating procedure for certain governing officials as well

The statists in our federal government have no attachment whatsoever tofacts or sense of reality. They will say whatever they think will achieve their ends, and they will never back down from a lie.

Most folks distrust their own perception of this lying because it’s so hard to believe other humans are so capable of such socially aberrant behavior.

I could debate myself til the cows come home about whether they are lying to themselves as well as to us. But in the end it doesn’t matter. The result is still lies, lies, and more lies on top of that.

    ooh. Sorry for the rant.
