A tale of two polls….

October 21, 2010

Weird – we have this story from Yahoo News

Women likely to vote also are more apt than men to say they trust Democrats more than Republicans — or they trust the two parties the same — on most issues tested, including creating jobs.

And 54 percent of women likely to vote say they’d like to see their own House member re-elected. It’s a good sign for Democrats in a Congress where they outnumber Republicans.

And then there is THIS report

Confusion was the word of the day on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this morning when the panel questioned why so many women have been drawn to the Tea Party movement.

“I wanted to ask all the gurus here, why so many of the Tea Partiers are women. I find that just intriguing and don’t quite understand why that has happened,” Stahl said.

well gee. Maybe some of us are moms? Maybe we’re moms with boys who want our boys to have as much of a shot at success as our girls, and who want to be paid a fair wage because we earned it instead of waving about gender inequality nonsense as an excuse for poor performance?

A couple interesting themes about the base to which the Dems are appealing. (hint: see “feminists looking for a way to energize their base to stay relevant” in the post below…)

From Pundit and Pundette: “Playing the abortion-rights card is the last resort of a desperate liberal: A vote for me is a vote to save your right to destroy your inconvenient unborn children. What an inspiring message”

Back to the Yahoo news article:  first lady Michelle Obama … recently pleaded for [the votes of women] during a New York fundraiser that partly benefited the Women’s Leadership Forum. She was flanked by Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Jill, and actress Sarah Jessica Parker of “Sex and the City.”

Yeah, because being like Carrie – focused on a fleeting thirty something mindset of “consume everything I can before I die, it’s all about me” mentality  is what I aspire to (note: that was sarcasm).

UPDATE: Gateway Pundit and Pirate’s Cove both note the “interesting” ways the Dems have to get the female vote out…
